First Aid Courses

REC Level 2 Outdoor First Aid

We're delighted to have teamed up with Steve and Helen Howe of Snowdonia First Aid for our first aid courses. They will be delivering these courses for us in our home village of Bampton in Cumbria, and with 45 years of Mountain Rescue experience between them, we think we've got the perfect people in to help our clients with their first aid training needs.

The REC Level 2 course is ideal for anyone who operates in the great outdoors, summer or winter, whether experienced or beginner. And REC Level 2 satisfies the usual NGB requirements for Mountain Training, BASI, BCU etc.

Course pre-requisites: none!

The Course
Our courses are held in the village of Bampton, near Shap. We use the Memorial Hall in the village as it offers a great location with good facilities and plenty of space for us to teach you effectively.

These courses are characterised by having a pragmatic, practical, hands-on approach with no unnecessary technical jargon and little powerpoint. We believe that first aid training should be enjoyable and memorable, and that's why we have asked Steve and Helen to run ours for us!

Some of the course will be delivered outside so waterproofs and outside footwear are recommended as well as outdoor clothing you don’t mind lying around in. You will also need to bring a packed lunch, although we will supply refreshments through the day. Or pop along to our tearoom for a quick bite to eat at lunch-time - we're just along the lane from the Memorial Hall.

The course starts each day at 9am and finishes by 5pm.
