Camping Leader

Camping Leader

The Camping Leader is the new award from Mountain Training. It replaces the old Expedition Skills Module, and is aimed at those who want to supervise groups camping in organised campsites, farms, and in wild camping locations too (if they hold a walking award and are operating within the scope of their award).

The main differences between the Camping Leader and the old Expedition Skills Module are the Camping Leader involves an online training module, followed by an in-person, practical assessment. The assessment is one day in duration. The other main difference is that anybody can register and take part in the Camping Leader - there is no requirement to already hold a Mountain Training walking award to access this course. This makes it suitable for those who are involved in assisting in camps with groups, who may not necessarily get involved in supervising on walks.

To register for the Camping Leader, and to access the Course Handbook and the online training module, go to the link on the Mountain Training website here.
